Kesher Yehudi produced a full-length movie Babushka, with the support of the Jerusalem Muncipality Cultural Department, to inspire more chareidim to sign up to participate as study partners.
Babushka traces the path of two chavrutot from the opposite ends of the world: Yulia, raised in Vladivostock by her non-Jewish father and step-mother, after the death of her Jewish mother, eventually reaches Israel, where she studies medicine and becomes a doctor; Zili, raised in Meah Shearim and the mother of eleven is her study partner. Despite their vastly different backgrounds and the cultural gaps between them, they have become one another’s closest friends.
The movie has been screened in chareidi communities across Israel and abroad.
